Christmas is just round the corner. And I know we are constantly reminded from our kids by their excitement and anticipation of Christmas presents. Every individual’s needs and desires are different, therefore I am sharing what we got for our family this year. In addition to what I will be giving my family and friends.
During the economic turbulent times we are in, I am very mindful of what I am willing to spend on for presents. My husband and I never do presents for each other. But this year, we were gifted some cash in advance for my daughter and us by friends. Therefore, I treated my family to some useful presents. Here are some budget friendly Christmas gift ideas, if you are looking for some.

Whenever, I am gifting anyone in my circle, I like the presents to be useful which adds value to their life. I have learnt from the past, getting toys that were short lived and collecting dust afterwards. But it served its purpose then. Luckily, my daughter is now at an age where she needs no more toys. But she had other wishes for this year’s Christmas presents. Here is what I got for her.
1. BRUSH PENS
Since, she is very much into drawing and bullet journals of late her wish were some brush pens. Perfect, I know she will use them very well. The cost of these brush pens were around 30 Swiss Francs. Additionally, I ordered a smaller pack to the ones above in the picture with different colors. I consulted her before I clicked order, so that she is happy with the colors.
2. AROMA DIFFUSER
My daughter wanted an aroma diffuser for her room. I was anyway intending to get a couple of aroma diffusers for our home. So I asked my daughter which one she wanted and got the one above in the picture. Aroma diffusers, are perfect for the winter months when the air is dry. I can use a few drops of essential oils for healing too. So getting it for Christmas was perfect. There are many brands available. But since, I had to order online, I looked through the rating and choose one which was not too expensive.
In case, you are at a loss of what you want to give, an aroma diffuser is a budget friendly Christmas gift idea for you.
3. AROMA OILS
Aroma oils are also very budget friendly Christmas gifts. Over the past 2 decades, I use a lot of essential oils for aroma diffusers and my homemade cosmetics. Getting multi packs are usually economical.
4. KITCHEN ARTICLES
My favorite gift item would be kitchen articles. Since some time, I wanted a new stainless steel kitchen compost bin, therefore it was on my priority list. My old Tupperware compost bin was slowly reaching the end of its life cycle. Moreover, the lid was not closing properly, which attracted flies during summer. Hence, I finally got this one from Kilner, which is one of my favorite brands. I choose the 2 Liter capacity, since this was for kitchen use only and it is best to empty the compost often.
BUDGET FRIENDLY CHRISTMAS GIFTS- TEA TOWELS
Kitchen towels are one of my favorite budget friendly gift item. I love these waffle textured organic cotton ones. These towels are highly absorbent and long lasting. I must have a dozen or more of them. This gift will never be wasted. I know we get through a dozen easily during the week. Because, I wash them only after collecting a lot to make the load worthwhile, I need a couple of dozens easily.
HOMEMADE AND BUDGET FRIENDLY CHRISTMAS GIFTS
Some of my favorite homemade budget friendly Christmas gifts are DIY all natural Cosmetics. I have shared a few of them in my previous posts.
